Wednesday Night Recap

Wednesday night was hoppin' at Holley's, we had to break out extra tables and chairs just to fit everyone! People were working on different projects all over the store, and some were even able to bind off and finish- Take a look at Mary's washcloth:

And here's a close-up of her super-perfect stitching:

Help Us Name Our New Friends!

We've had a couple of critters hanging around Holley's for the past couple of days, and we need your help giving them names! Leave a comment below and tell us your ideas for names.

The pattern for the little guy on the right can be found in Itty-Bitty Toys by Susan B. Anderson, now at Holley's. And the pattern for our friend on the left can be found on Ravelry, here

Leave a comment and help name our dapper little friends!

Yarn Bombing Around the World

Check out this article from Women's Day on crochet and knitted projects in the art world. Austin-based artist Magda Sayeg has a Mexico City bus featured:

Knitting and Crochet Patterns in Art

People all over the world are using crochet and knitting as an art form. Many of these installations are in public places. If you could, what would you yarn bomb?

Imperial is Coming to Holley's!

Imperial Stock Ranch Yarn is a sustainable wool and alpaca line that comes from Oregon. Holley's will be stocking the Tracie sport-weight, and Bulky two-strand-so be sure to look out for it on our shelves! Also, Holley's just got in a shipment of Brittany Birch single- and double-pointed needles, along with 9-in. Clover circulars, soft-touch crochet hooks, and adorable garment labels that complete any project. So be sure to stop in soon to stock up!

Summertime is here...

And you know what that means-Summer knitting and crocheting! Sweater season is over, and before you start on the Christmas socks for all 18 of your aunts, uncles, and cousins (this year, they will get done!), take a break and make up something in keep-you-cool cotton. A great choice would be the Classic Elite Verde Collection yarn Seedling:

It's 100% organic cotton, and would make a super cute cover-up for the beach or pool.

And there's also Berroco's Pure Pima, which is, of course, 100% Pima cotton:

Wouldn't this make a great tank top, just in time for 4th of July?

So take a break from wool and alpaca, and whip up something that not only looks cool, but keeps you cool as well!
